Update instructions: Version 2.4 to 3.0.4

When updating from ver­si­on 2.4 to 3.0.4, the plug­in struc­tu­re was fun­da­men­tal­ly revi­sed to impro­ve main­taina­bi­li­ty and user-fri­en­d­­li­­ne­ss. The Pro ver­si­on now only con­ta­ins func­tions that go bey­ond the func­tion­al scope of the free ver­si­on from the plug­in store.

Important: For the Pro ver­si­on to work pro­per­ly, the free ver­si­on from the plug­in store must also be instal­led. Wit­hout this basic ver­si­on, essen­ti­al func­tions of the Pro ver­si­on can­not be used.

Preparation #

Befo­re you start the update, down­load ver­si­on 3.0.4 from your cus­to­mer account on our web­site. You will also find your licen­se key here if you need it for the instal­la­ti­on.

Update steps #

Car­ry out the fol­lo­wing steps on your web­site to suc­cessful­ly update to ver­si­on 3.0.4:

1. Regis­tra­ti­on
   • Log in to your Word­Press web­site.
2. Deac­ti­vat­ing the plug­in
   • Switch to the “Plug­ins” tab.
   • Deac­ti­va­te the dou­ble opt-in plug­in.
     Note: The plug­in must not be dele­ted.
3. Install new plug­in ver­si­on
   • Navi­ga­te to “Plug­ins > Add new plug­in”.
   • Search for “Dou­ble Opt-In (Ava­da, Cont­act Form 7) — GDPR Rea­dy”, install and acti­va­te the plug­in.
4. Upload Pro ver­si­on
   • Switch to the “Upload plug­in” tab.
   • Sel­ect the Pro ver­si­on that you pre­vious­ly down­loa­ded via your account.
   • Con­firm the over­wri­ting of the pre­vious ver­si­on by the instal­la­ti­on.
5. Acti­va­te Pro ver­si­on
   • Acti­va­te the Pro ver­si­on of the plug­in.
   • Go to “Forge12 Dou­ble Opt-In > Licen­se”.
   • If neces­sa­ry, enter your licen­se.
6. Test­ing
