Protection regulations

The pro­tec­tion rules offer you addi­tio­nal pro­tec­tion against bots and spam. If requi­red, the­se func­tions can be acti­va­ted sepa­ra­te­ly.

URL limiter #

You can use the URL limi­ter to defi­ne how many URLs may be trans­mit­ted in a form.

Activating the URL delimiter

1. Go to Captcha > Dash­board > Pro­tec­tion rules > URL deli­mi­ter.
2. Acti­va­te the URL limi­ter by cli­cking on the slider.
3. Spe­ci­fy the num­ber of links allo­wed.
4. Spe­ci­fy the error mes­sa­ge that is dis­play­ed to visi­tors when the limit is excee­ded.
5. Save your set­tings.

Link detection

The URL deli­mi­ter checks all form fields for the pre­sence of URLs. The fol­lo­wing regex pat­tern is used for this:

(http|https|ftp|ftps)\:\/\/[a-zA-Z0-9\-\.]+\.[a-zA-Z]{2,6}(\/\S*)

The links detec­ted are then tota­led and com­pared with the spe­ci­fied maxi­mum num­ber of per­mit­ted links.

BBCode delimiter #

You can use the BBCode limi­ter to spe­ci­fy whe­ther BBCode is allo­wed in your forms or not.

Activating the BBCode delimiter

1. Go to Captcha > Dash­board > Pro­tec­tion rules > BBCode limi­ter.
2. Acti­va­te the BBCode limi­ter by cli­cking on the slider.
3. Spe­ci­fy the error mes­sa­ge that is dis­play­ed to visi­tors when using BBCode.
4. Save your set­tings.

Blacklist #

You can use the black­list to defi­ne cer­tain words and texts that are not per­mit­ted in your forms.

Activating the blacklist

1. Go to Captcha > Dash­board > Pro­tec­tion rules > Black­list.
2. Acti­va­te the black­list by cli­cking on the slider.
3. Enter the words or texts that are to be blo­cked. Make sure you wri­te each ent­ry on a new line. Optio­nal­ly, you can also down­load a pre­de­fi­ned black­list from us.
4. Spe­ci­fy the error mes­sa­ge that is dis­play­ed to visi­tors when they use words from the black­list.
5. Save your set­tings.

Predefined blacklist

You can down­load a black­list con­tai­ning sus­pi­cious words in various lan­guages using the Load pre­de­fi­ned black­list but­ton. The list con­ta­ins around 40,000 pre­de­fi­ned ent­ries.

Greedy filter

The gree­dy fil­ter allows you to spe­ci­fy whe­ther com­bi­na­ti­ons of words on the black­list should also trig­ger the pro­tec­tion rule.
