Preparation #
To activate the double opt-in for your Avada form, please proceed as follows:
- Navigate to Avada > Forms in your WordPress dashboard.
- Select the desired form and click on Edit.

In the form options you will find a new tab labeled Double opt-in, which contains all configuration options.

Important: For the double opt-in to work, you must ensure that the Submission Type has been changed to Save to Database in the Submission tab. Otherwise no e‑mail will be sent.
Step 1: Activate double opt-in #
First, you must activate the double opt-in for the selected form. To do this, place a tick in the checkbox next to the “Activate” label .

Step 2: Configure opt-in mail #
After activation, you must configure the opt-in email. To do this, enter the name of the form field containing the visitor’s e‑mail address in the corresponding field.
Make sure that the “To” field is case-sensitive. Ideally, copy the placeholder directly from the form. The name of the field containing the recipient’s e‑mail must be entered here.

Then enter the sender (From), the name of the sender (Sender name) and the desired subject .
Then select the desired template and save the settings by clicking on the “Update” button.
Name field for recipient e‑mail
You can find out the “Field Name” for the e‑mail address by editing the field.

Step 3: Configure standard mail #
As soon as the opt-in system is activated and configured, you should set up the standard emails. To do this, use the Avada settings in the Notifications tab as usual.

To send a standard email after the double opt-in, enter the recipient (Email), the sender (Email From Name and Sender Email), the subject (Email Subject) and the message text (Email Message) as usual. Then save the settings by clicking on “Save”.
The double opt-in also supports multiple notifications. This allows you to send a confirmation email both internally and externally. To do this, simply activate additional notifications by clicking on the Add Notification button. Then configure the recipient and the content of the email.
If you want to send files to the recipient after the double opt-in, make sure you use the first notification for this.
